Five Months Later...

Greetings, I hope all is well with each of you.  This month, I think the theme has to be 'calm'.  My scar is generally calm.  There is nothing to report other than my scar seems very calm, no issues to report and I forget I have a scar.  When I had AKN, this was never the case as the flaking, the bleeding and the perpetual itching meant that I was always reminded of it's presence.  Nowadays, I get on with things as if there is no scar at all, I remember when I look in the mirror or touch it, other than that no issue and everything is... calm.

There has not been any repercussion of the issue I experienced last month with the cut, or graze, I suspect it was just 'one of those things', in any case it never came back.

So, here are some pictures taken a couple of hours ago showing the status of my scar's healing (I think the medical term is 're-modelling' - whatever the term it's working nicely):

I plan to have my scar revision in September of this year.  I will keep you posted with this progress.  As the AKN condition has successfully been removed, the goal of the scar revision is to improve the aesthetics and reduce the width of the scar.  I am truly grateful for the improvement so far and anything else is just a bonus from my perspective.  I believe the hard work has already been done and I will not need to go through the full aftercare e.g. twice daily changes of bandages, dressings, cleaning process that is so vital after the initial operation.  I think I will just have stitches which get removed a couple of weeks later, then that's it... a free man! :-)

Anyways, hope you found this useful, or interesting, preferably both.  Take care and talk again next month.
